    • In-person. Visit your county’s Voter Registrar office.

    • By mail. Pick up a voter registration application from your county’s Voter Registrar office, public libraries, government offices, or high schools.

    • Online. Fill out your voter registration application through our online portal here, then print, sign, and mail it to your county’s Voter Registrar office.

How to Vote Early in TX

Early voting is available Tuesday, February 17 - Friday, February 27th.

  • Registered and eligible voters may vote at ANY early voting location located in their county. Early voting locations will be populated in your "My Voter Portal" two days prior to the first day of early voting.

  • Find early voting sites and schedules in your county: Find Your Early Voting Polling Place

  • Under Texas law, voters who have a photo ID must present that ID at the polls. If you don't have an ID, you still have options to vote.

How to Vote by Mail

  • You may request a mail-in ballot beginning January 2, 2026. The last day to request a mail-in ballot is February 20, 2026.

  • The deadline for mail-in ballots to be returned to the county is Election Day, March 3. If a ballot is postmarked by 7 p.m. locally on election day, it’ll be counted if the county receives it by 5 p.m. on March 4. The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing your ballot at least one week before the deadline, if not sooner.

  • You can drop off your mail-in ballot in person only on Election Day at your elections office.  You must bring a Photo ID.

Once you've submitted your ballot, you can track it by clicking the red button below.

Voting on Election Day

  • On Election Day, you must vote at your designated polling place.

    • You can find your assigned polling location on your voter registration card, by logging into your Personal Voter Portal, or by contacting your County Board of Registrar's Office.

    • Polling places are open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you are in line by 7:00 p.m., you are allowed to cast your ballot.

What to Bring to the Polls

  • You need to show photo ID to vote. Approved photo ID includes a TX driver’s license or state ID, any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, a U.S. passport, or a military ID. Full list of acceptable IDs here.

  • Voters without ID: Voters who do not have one of the approved forms of photo ID may fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration (RID) (PDF) at the polls and present an alternative form of ID, such as a utility bill, bank statement, government check, or a voter registration certificate.
