Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. On Election Day, vote at your assigned polling place. Find your polling location here.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you are in line by 8:00 p.m., you are allowed to cast your ballot.
Register to Vote

October 14, 2026- Deadline to Register to vote online. - Voters who are able to match their name, date of birth, Wisconsin Driver License or State ID number, and address with the Wisconsin DMV can register to vote online through October 14, 2026.

October 14, 2026- Deadline to Register by Mail - Your voter registration form, along with proof of residence must be postmarked to your municipal clerk no later than October 14, 2026. Find your Municipal Clerk’s Contact Information here.

October 30, 2026 @ 5:00 p.m.- Deadline to Register in Your Municipal Clerk’s Office- Voters may register in-person in their municipal clerk’s office during the clerk’s business hours until 5:00 p.m. on October 30, 2026. Find your Municipal Clerk’s Contact Information here.

Voters may also register to vote at their polling place on election day.
How to Vote Early in WI
Early in-person absentee voting begins Tuesday, October 20th, 2026. It may continue through November 1st. Some municipal offices may not offer additional in-person absentee hours Check MyVote or contact your municipal clerk for absentee voting hours.

Hours and additional locations (such as libraries or community centers) vary by municipality. Contact your municipal clerk for specific hours and locations, or find in-person absentee voting locations at MyVote.wi.gov.

Photo ID is required to vote early in person — the same requirements as Election Day voting.

You may register to vote at in-person absentee voting locations if your clerk's office offers same-day registration during the early voting period. You must bring proof of residence.
Absentee Ballots

Registered Wisconsin voters may request an absentee ballot.

The deadline to request your absentee ballot is 5:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2026

Absentee ballots must be received by 8pm on Election Day to be counted. If you are worried it won’t arrive in time via mail, you can take your completed absentee ballot to an approved location.

Photo ID is required for absentee by mail. If you have not previously provided a copy of an acceptable photo ID for a by-mail absentee request, you must include a photocopy of your photo ID with your application. You can submit the application and ID copy by mail, fax, or email. Exceptions apply for military and permanent overseas voters, indefinitely confined voters, and voters in care facilities.

What to Bring to the Polls

You must show an approved photo ID to vote, like a WI driver’s license, WI DOT ID, military ID, Tribal ID, or passport.
